À la suite d’un sondage sur les besoins de ses clients, la banque alimentaire de l’Armée du Salut à Penticton (C.-B.) a publié une deuxième série de cinq livres de recettes.

« Cette initiative vise à offrir aux gens des recettes simples et variées en fonction des denrées alimentaires généralement obtenues dans les banque alimentaires, et axées sur une alimentation riche en protéines végétales, raconte Barb Stewart, coordonnatrice de la banque alimentaire. Nous distribuons ces livres de recettes gratuitement. »

Il a fallu plusieurs mois pour mettre le projet en œuvre, en collaboration avec la Valley First Credit Union. La série de livres de recettes Food For All vise à aborder le problème de l’insécurité alimentaire en proposant des repas sains et économiques aux personnes qui disposent d’un budget modeste.

Tous les mois, près de 900 000 Canadiens ont recours à des banques alimentaires. En essayant de comprendre la nature du problème et les solutions possibles, nous pouvons contribuer à changer les choses.
