Lorsque vous faites des dons de fonds communs de placement, d’obligations, de contrats à terme normalisés ou de titres cotés en bourse (comme les actions) à un organisme de bienfaisance, vous obtiendrez un reçu à des fins fiscales correspondant à la pleine valeur marchande de ces dons (valeur établie en fonction du jour où cet organisme les reçoit).
  3. Si vous faites don de fonds communs de placement ou de titres cotés en bourse, vous recevrez un reçu fiscal pour activités de bienfaisance équivalant à la pleine valeur marchande de votre don (valeur établie en fonction du jour où votre don a été reçu), ce qui vous permet ainsi d’éviter de devoir payer de l’impôt sur les gains en capitaux. En outre, votre crédit d’impôt peut être reporté si la portion des dons dépasse votre plafond annuel.
  4. Si vous vendez vos actions pour avoir des liquidités, vous devez payer l’impôt exigé sur les gains obtenus, même si vous prévoyez de donner ceux-ci à un organisme de bienfaisance. Cette situation signifie donc qu’il y a moins d’argent à donner à l’organisme de bienfaisance de votre choix. En d’autres mots, celui-ci reçoit un don moins important de votre part et le montant de votre crédit d’impôt correspondant calculé à la fin de l’année est moins important.
  5. Faire un don est simple comme bonjour. Consultez votre spécialiste en services financiers pour vous aider à déterminer quels investissements seront les plus avantageux pour vous sur les plans financier et philanthropique. Demandez ensuite à votre courtier de transférer vos titres à l’Armée du Salut à l’aide du formulaire prévu à cet effet.
